Why my household poo’s like it’s the 90s

I am going to go out on a limb here and say most adults take their phone to the loo with them. I used to love a loo scroll until I really thought about it and felt like it wasn’t a habit I wanted my kids get into when they eventually have smart phones. I think lots of mums get into the habit when they have young kids. For me going to the loo on my own when the kids were toddlers felt like going on a two-week solo spa holiday and was the only chance to get a scroll in or reply to a week old text. I get it but really for me personally I started to get the ick about it as a habit I was going to pass on.

It is a simple fix, but we always have books and magazines in the bathrooms. This means there is always stuff to read and if you go to the loo or get in the bath you have stuff you can just pick up. It is basically like going to the bathroom like we did in the 1990s and means you aren’t inviting the entire world into do your bizness with you. You can have a moment of quiet to do your business or if you do want to be entertained then having stuff to read breaks the habit of just scrolling.  It has become a habit for our kids to pick up whatever they are doing in there and if we as the adults are being more conscious about taking phones in with us as much then we aren’t passing that habit on.

Do I always leave my phone behind when I go to the loo? Honestly, no but I am a lot more conscious about now.
